Swedish skiing at its best
Skiing has always been something Swedes are good at. Probably because we live so far up north that we have winter most of the year. While other, more southern positioned, countries might prefer sports that doesn’t involve snow, Swedes, Norwegians, and Finns have taken winter sports to their hearts.
That is why this is such a beautiful thing to watch. We all know about the ‘fight’ between big brother Sweden and little brother Norway. It’s always a competition of who is the best and who is the strongest. Norway have many times been the king of skiing. But not this time. Sweden’s Marcus Hellner did an incredible sprint in the World Cup Sprint back in 2011, which left the competition far behind.
A beautiful moment, if you’re a Swede. Or if you just like incredible sport moments.
Oh, and that Hill is now called Hellner Hill. Don’t you just love it?
