September 3rd 1967 was ‘Dagen H’ (‘H day’) in Sweden, when the traffic changed from left to right. Can you imagine the chaos? What if someone just woke you up one day and told you, ‘well today you will be driving on the left – good luck!’  I suppose they got the news earlier that that, but you get the picture.

Swedes actually get paid to go to school, and the food is for free! Students get about $ 187 per month and it is intendent to be used for expenses related to school.

Names of IKEA furniture is a study by itself, sofas are named after places in Sweden, beds places in Norway, carpets places in Denmark and dining tables places in Finland… the list goes on.

McDonalds is huge in Sweden. There are 627 restaurants, which means only America has more restaurants per capita than Sweden. Swedes are lucky to have ‘plogging’ so that they will stay healthy with all hamburgers around the corner.

Did you know that wasps are the predator that kills most humans in Sweden, not bears or wolfs, wasps. But the most dangerous animal is the moose, who causes about 6000 traffic accidents a year. Be careful on the roads of Sweden, especially close to the woods!
Maybe the moose is the reason Volvo invented the three-point seatbelt in 1959?

Sweden is pretty safe and has not participated in any war for over 2 centuries (if you don’t count letting the German’s crossing during World War 2). Might be a reason Sweden has one of the highest life expectancies in the world with 74 for men and 80 for women. Let’s move here if you want to live a long life!
